Public API

The Campsite API is now available for your team to build custom integrations and workflows on top of posts, comments, and direct message threads.

Today, the API supports endpoints to:

• Create posts in public and private channels
• Create comments and replies in existing posts
• Create direct messages in group threads

We’re excited to build more capabilities for the Campsite API in the coming weeks and months — please get in touch with requests for new endpoints or workflows we should support.

Getting started

To build a custom integration, head to your organization settings page and click the Integrations tab.

Under Custom integrations, create a new integration with a name and avatar (these can always be changed later). Once created, you’ll get access to an API key with permission to make API requests to your organization’s workspace. If you lose this key, you can regenerate another one.

Custom integration examples

• Axiom alerts — get notified when errors or alert thresholds are triggered in your product.
• Daily standups — create a daily post that mentions people who need to add an update.
• GitHub pull request alerts — get notified when pull requests are opened or merged.
• GitHub release alerts — keep your team in sync about internal releases or follow releases from other repositories.
• Plain customer support tickets — get notified when a new support ticket is created or when a new reply is added.
• Slack Connect new thread alert — get notified when a customer starts a new thread in a Slack Connect channel.
• Stripe new customer alert — get notified when a customer subscribes, upgrades, or cancels a subscription.
• Vercel deployment alert — get notified when deployments fail, or a new deployment is promoted to production.

Other improvements

• Added support for deleting direct message threads.
