How to forward a thread in Slack?

Forwarding a thread in Slack isn't a direct feature, but you can share messages from a thread with others by using a few simple steps.

Here's how you can do it:

  1. Open the thread: First, navigate to the thread you want to forward. You can find threads by clicking on the "Threads" button in the top left corner of Slack or by locating the original message in a channel or direct message.

  2. Select the message: Once you're in the thread, find the specific message you want to share. Hover over the message, and you'll see a few icons appear on the right side.

  3. Use the "Forward option": Click on the "More actions" icon (three dots) next to the message. From the dropdown menu, select "Forward message."

  4. Choose the destination: A new window will pop up, allowing you to choose where you want to share the message. You can select a channel, a direct message, or even a group message. You can also add a comment if you want to provide context.

  5. Send the message: After selecting the destination and adding any comments, click the "Forward" button to forward the message.

By following these steps, you can effectively share important information from a thread with other team members or channels. This method helps keep everyone informed without having to copy and paste messages manually.
