Can you see who read your message on Slack?

On Slack, you cannot directly see who has read your message.

Unlike some messaging platforms that provide read receipts or indicators showing who has viewed a message, Slack does not offer this feature.

However, there are a few indirect ways to gauge if someone has seen your message:

  1. Reactions: If someone reacts to your message with an emoji, it indicates they have seen it. Reactions are a quick way for team members to acknowledge messages without sending a full reply.

  2. Replies: If someone replies to your message, either in the thread or directly in the channel, it confirms they have read it. Engaging in conversation is a clear sign of message visibility.

  3. Presence indicators: You can see if someone is online or active on Slack by checking their status indicator. A green dot means they are active, which might suggest they are more likely to see messages.

  4. Direct messages: If you send a direct message and receive a response, it confirms the recipient has read it. However, without a response, there is no way to be sure.

For those who need more detailed tracking, some third-party apps and integrations might offer additional insights, but these are not native to Slack and may require additional setup and permissions.

Overall, while Slack does not provide explicit read receipts, using reactions, replies, and presence indicators can help you infer whether your message has been seen.
