If you need more detailed information about someone's availability, you might consider:
- Sending a direct message: Sometimes, people will respond even if they appear away.
- Checking their custom status: They might have left a note about when they'll be back.
- Using integrations: Some third-party apps and integrations can provide more detailed tracking of user activity, but these are not built into Slack by default.
